CNTS COMMUNITY

Terms of Use & Community Guidelines

The basic deal for accounts, Events, Partners, Projects and participation.

Version 1.0 Effective 2 October 2026

What CNTS is

CNTS exists to help people turn shared motoring interests into real connections, Events, projects, productions and community activity.

CNTS is not intended to be an endless-feed social network. Its community features are designed around participation: finding something, turning up, contributing, collaborating and sharing useful information.

Acceptance

By creating or using a CNTS account, a person agrees to these Terms and any specific terms or notices presented for a feature they choose to use.

Some activities, including Lids Off, require separate consent. Agreeing to these general Terms does not replace that consent.

Age

A person must be at least 16 years old to create a CNTS account.

CNTS may require additional safeguards or consent for a person under 18 who participates in a recorded production, publication of a personal story or another activity with elevated privacy or safety implications.

Accounts and identity

Users must provide information they are entitled to provide and must not impersonate another person or organisation.

A legal name is not required merely because CNTS offers an account. A user may use a chosen public identity or pseudonym where the relevant function permits it.

Users are responsible for protecting their account credentials and should notify CNTS if they believe their account has been compromised.

Community standard

CNTS members must not use the service to:

  • harass, threaten, stalk or intimidate another person
  • publish another person's private information without permission
  • engage in discriminatory abuse or targeted hateful conduct
  • deliberately impersonate or materially deceive the community
  • submit spam, scams, malicious links or unlawful material
  • manipulate attendance, Interaction Score or other CNTS systems
  • interfere with the security or operation of the platform
  • use CNTS to organise conduct that is unlawful; or
  • repeatedly disrupt Events, projects or community functions in bad faith.

Disagreement, criticism and ordinary robust conversation are not automatically misconduct. Moderation should consider context, pattern, severity and the safety of participants.

Events, rides and real-world activity

Unless CNTS expressly states otherwise, an Event listed on CNTS may be organised by an independent person, group, Partner or business.

Listing, suggesting, sharing or RSVPing to an Event does not mean CNTS controls, supervises, certifies or guarantees the Event.

Participants remain responsible for their own decisions, licensing, legal compliance, vehicle roadworthiness, protective equipment, insurance where relevant, route choices and riding or driving to their own ability and conditions.

An RSVP such as Going or Interested communicates intention only. It is not a guarantee of attendance, admission, safety, suitability or Event performance.

Event organisers

Event organisers and owners are responsible for information they publish and for keeping material details reasonably accurate.

CNTS may correct, archive, restrict or remove an Event listing where reasonably necessary for safety, accuracy, moderation, legal compliance or platform integrity.

Partners

Partner status is a CNTS classification and participation role. It is not a guarantee, endorsement, certification or warranty of a Partner's products, services, conduct or suitability.

Partners are responsible for information they submit. Public Partner material must be information the Partner is entitled to publish or information CNTS has confirmed may be published.

CNTS may change, suspend or withdraw Partner status where reasonably required to enforce these Terms, protect the community or correct a classification.

Projects

Project roles provide access only to the project functions required for that role. Project membership does not create ownership of CNTS or general administrative authority.

Project participants must respect confidential or unpublished project information and must not republish private working material without permission.

Lids Off and CNTS productions

Lids Off is governed by the separate Lids Off Privacy & Participation Notice and recording/publication consent process.

A participant may decline questions, use an agreed public identity or pseudonym, and must approve publication before an Episode is published.

CNTS will not treat a general account acceptance, nomination, invitation acceptance or recording consent as automatic publication consent.

User-submitted content

A user retains ownership of content they own.

When a user intentionally submits content for public display through CNTS, the user grants CNTS a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, format and display that content only as reasonably necessary to provide, promote and operate the relevant CNTS feature.

This licence does not transfer ownership to CNTS and does not give CNTS an unrestricted right to exploit private submissions for unrelated purposes.

If content is removed from public CNTS surfaces, limited copies may remain temporarily in backups, audit records or systems where retention is reasonably required.

Intellectual property

CNTS branding, original site design, platform code, original editorial material and other CNTS-owned materials remain the property of their respective owner.

Third-party names, logos, photographs, video, trademarks and other material remain the property of their respective owners.

A user must not submit material they do not have the right to submit.

Moderation and enforcement

CNTS may review, restrict, hide, archive or remove content and may limit or suspend account functionality where reasonably necessary to:

  • enforce these Terms
  • protect people or platform security
  • respond to credible safety or privacy concerns
  • comply with law
  • investigate manipulation or abuse; or
  • preserve the integrity of Events, Projects, Partners, Lids Off or Interaction Score.

Where practical and appropriate, CNTS should use proportionate action and retain an audit record of significant moderation decisions.

Suspended accounts

A suspended account may be permitted to browse public material while losing some or all interactive or publication functions.

Suspension does not require CNTS to immediately erase records reasonably required for security, moderation, consent, dispute handling or audit purposes.

Optional communications

Promotional or community-marketing email is opt-in only. Rider / Community updates and Partner-specific updates are separate choices.

Transactional communications required to operate a feature the user requested or joined are not treated as subscription to either optional communications stream.

Third-party services and links

CNTS may link to or embed third-party services. CNTS does not control those services and does not guarantee their availability, privacy practices, security, content or conduct.

Users should consider the third party's own terms and privacy information when using those services.

Availability and changes

CNTS may change, maintain, suspend or discontinue platform features. CNTS does not promise that every contribution or feature will be stored or available forever.

Where a change materially affects privacy or consent, CNTS will handle that change under the applicable privacy and consent rules rather than relying solely on this general clause.

Closing an account

A user may request account closure.

Closing an account does not necessarily require immediate deletion of every record. CNTS may retain information reasonably required for security, moderation, consent evidence, published material, audit history, legal obligations or suppression of unwanted marketing.

Where practical, public profile information no longer required will be removed or de-identified.

Liability and real-world decisions

CNTS provides community and information tools. Users remain responsible for their own real-world decisions.

To the extent permitted by law, CNTS does not accept responsibility for loss caused solely by reliance on user-submitted Event information, third-party services or the conduct of independent Event organisers, Partners or participants.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in Queensland, Australia.

Contact

Questions about these Terms may be sent through CNTS's published contact channels. Privacy matters should be directed to privacy@cnts.life.
